Geographic description

Located south of Dijon, the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation is the top village of the Côte de Nuits. In 1847, by royal order of King Louis Philippe, the name Chambertin was attached to Gevrey and officially became Gevrey-Chambertin. Its name comes from "goulottes" (waterfalls) of mountain streams.

Geological description

The plot is located north of the village, above "Champeaux" and alongside "Combes Aux Moines" on the border of Brochon. The climat sits above old clay and stone pits. The vines are planted on thin layers of white marl on rock suitable for wall-building. The thin layer of soil forces the roots to dig down deep through the faults in the rock to find water.

This powerful wine will accompany all game (deer, wild boar, pheasant).
