CLOS DE VOUGEOT Grand Cru
2019
- Description of the appellation
Founded in the 12th century by the Cistercian monks, the Clos de Vougeot is undoubtedly the most extensive vineyard of the Grands Crus of Burgundy. It is still entirely enclosed by blackberries. It takes its name from the river that runs through the village: the Vouge.
- Geological profile
Our plot is located in the southern part of the Clos. The conditions are excellent for quality viticulture. The soil is of average depth, about 45 cm, and rests on limestone gravel from the slopes of the Combe d'Orveau. These are brown limestone soils whose fine earth is rich in clay elements. The parent rock dates from the Oligocene and is made up of marl, conglomerate and lacustrine limestone.
- Vinification & Aging
