VOSNE ROMANEE
Maizières
2018
- Description of the appellation
Vosne is said to be derived from "VIDUMOS," which means forest. It is said that Gauls who were enlisted for twenty years by Caesar were rewarded with a vineyard that subsequent generations would have named "Romanée." The great historian Claude Courtépée often said, "There are no common wines in Vosne." Near the Premier Cru "Les Suchots," "Les Maizières" benefit from a particularly favorable location.
- Geological profile
Close to the village, the plot is located just below the 1er cru Les Suchots. This climate benefits from a rich clay-limestone soil that is deeper (between 60 and 80 cm thick) than in other parcels of Vosne-Romanée "village".
- Vinification & Aging
Bio-lunar… At each stage, all our work follows the rythm of the Moon’s synodic revolution… And we are fully committed to the principles of organic farming in the management of our vines.
The winemaking process involves aging the wines in a combination of oak barrels and concrete or stainless steel tanks.
