GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN
Les Goulots
2019
- Description of the appellation
It was by Louis Philippe's royal decree in 1847 that the term Chambertin was associated with Gevrey to officially become Gevrey-Chambertin.
The parcel is located to the north of the village on the border with Brochon. The climate is located above former clay and stone quarries. The vines are planted on thin layers of white marl over hard rock (upper limestone). The thin layer of soil forces the vines to go down deep into the faults in the rock.
