MOREY-SAINT-DENIS
Aux Charmes
2019
- Description of the appellation
The first mention of Morey dates back to 1120. It was a place of refuge for the monks of Cîteaux in the 14th century, who probably owned a lot of vines and even a winery as early as 1306. The appellation extends from Chambolle-Musigny to Gevrey-Chambertin. The parcel is located on the border between Morey and Gevrey, under the Clos de la Roche and right next to Mazoyères-Chambertin.
Les Charmes is based on a light terroir and produces flattering and distinguished wines.
- Etymology
The word Charmes refers to former fields that have been left fallow and should therefore be taken in the sense of Chaume.
- Vinification & Aging
Biodynamie... At each stage, all our work follows the rhythm of the Moon’s synodic revolution...
Our vines are cultivated according to the philosophical principles of the Biodynamic culture…
Aging our wines in a combination of terracotta and wood allows them to fully express the authenticity of their Climat.
- Food & Wine Pairing
This Morey-Saint-Denis goes very well with a grilled veal chop or a lightly creamy cheese.
